Shepherd’s Launch
Welcome — I’m Holden Wynn
A Master of Divinity graduate from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, called to shepherd, teach, and serve the local church.
I am seeking a pastoral role where I can faithfully preach the Word, care for the body of Christ, and lead with biblical conviction and humility. This site offers a glimpse into my ministry philosophy, theological training, and experience in pastoral care and leadership.
Feel free to explore my background, ministry vision, and sermons — and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to connect.
About me
I currently live in Louisville, Kentucky, where I’m completing my Master of Divinity at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I’ll be graduating on May 9, 2025, and am prayerfully preparing for the next season of life and ministry.
Before seminary, I studied at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Religion. That season laid a strong foundation for my passion for theology, church history, and pastoral ministry.
During my time in Louisville, I’ve had the opportunity to work at both the Louisville Slugger Museum and the Frazier History Museum—experiences that have deepened my appreciation for history, storytelling, and community.
In my first two years here, I also lived and worked at Re:Center Ministries, a Christian rehabilitation center serving homeless men struggling with addiction. While there, I led Bible studies and preached regularly, walking alongside men in their recovery and spiritual growth. That time profoundly shaped my heart for discipleship, restoration, and ministry.
I have also been blessed with opportunity to teach middle schoolers at Immanuel Baptist Church. Allowing me the opportunity to forge relationships with young men in a critical stage of life, and mercifully to see the Spirit bring them to faith in the Lord Jesus through my teaching.
Whether you're here to connect, collaborate, or just learn more, I’m grateful you’ve taken the time to stop by.
Theology
I have worked to lay out, in summary form, my positions on major theological issues. I have relied heavily on historic reformed and baptist confessions of faith such as the Scottish Confession of 1560, the Westminster Confession of 1647, the Orthodox Creed of 1678, and especially the Second London Baptist Confession of 1689. I have reproduced the statements of these confessions where I find agreement with them, while modernizing and simplifying the language as needed, and omitting or inserting statements to conform more closely with my own positions. I have also created statements to cover issues where these confessions are silent. Through this exercise, I hope to show that my theological positions are in line with historic reformed and baptist orthodoxy. I have also appended other theological statements with which I am in full agreement, these are: the three Ecumenical Creeds, the Chalcedonian Definition, the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary’s Abstract of Principles, and the Nashville Statement on Biblical Sexuality.
